    Marketing Assistant

The Festival is unique in its ability to stage major international theatre of scale and has hosted productions by the world’s most highly regarded artists while also premiering work by the giants of Irish theatre.

    Purpose and Scope of the Post

    Dublin Theatre Festival is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the Festival’s Marketing Department.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the Marketing Manager;
    • Coordinate the Festival’s internet and social networking profile, regularly update all online platforms, responsible for reaching new audiences online;
    • Coordinate and liaise with Festival artists to gather high quality marketing content;
    • Assist on advertising and promotional campaigns;
    • Maintain the marketing database;
    • Oversee and coordinate market research;
    • Responsibility for venue dressing and signage;
    • Responsibility for distribution of marketing materials;
    • Coordinate and implement target marketing for specific shows;
    • Assist with production of marketing materials;
    • Assist with on-street campaigns and distribution strategies;
    • Assist on Festival events as needed;
    • Any other duties that may be specified by and agreed with the Festival’s Marketing Manager

    General

    • Implement and enforce environmental initiative of recycling;
    • Awareness of health and safety issues within the work environment;
    • At the conclusion of the Festival provide a written report as to how systems could be improved for the following year

    Person Specification

    Essential skills and experience

    • Minimum of one year experience in marketing;
    • High level of literacy, communication and organisational skills;
    • Experience with social media, email and online marketing;
    • Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages;
    • Ability to work in a constantly busy work environment with a high level of time and stress management;
    • Acute attention to detail and experience in copy writing;
    • Ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously;
    • Team player;
    • Flexibility regarding work schedule;
    • Fluent English;
    • Resourcefulness

    Desirable

    • Knowledge of and interest in arts/theatre

    Type of Contract

    Seasonal and temporary - 18 weeks, June 18 to October 19 2012

    Salary

    €20,000 - €23,000 (per annum - pro rata)

    Hours of Work

    This post is full-time working 40 hours per week. Work outside these hours including evening and weekend work may be required. No overtime or time in lieu is payable.

    Probation

    A probation period of two weeks will apply from the start of the contract.

    Holidays

    Holidays may not be taken within this contract. Holiday entitlement will be paid at the end of contract in accordance with current employment legislation.
