RTE’s Drivetime gets first ever sponsor.
HSBC Corporate Banking Ireland is to be the first-ever sponsor of RTE Radio 1’s Drivetime programme. With 256,000 listeners, Drivetime is now 66,000 listeners ahead of its nearest national rival and the show now has more listeners tuning in than at any time in its history. The 9-month sponsorship deal begins on 4 January 2010. The announcement comes as RTE Radio confirms that 2009 has been the most successful year yet for radio sponsorship in RTE. Despite challenges in the marketplace, RTE Radio’s continued dominance in the ratings is making it a sound investment for businesses. Says Ronan Murphy, Sales and Marketing Manager, RTE Radio: “The Drivetime development is another indication, if any were needed, of the market’s indisputable confidence in RTE Radio. As Ireland’s most-listened to radio station, RTE Radio 1 is now the home of the most popular drivetime programme. The numbers speak for themselves.
