General Description of Role

Do you want to make a name for yourself in the largest hotel group in Ireland? The Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport is part of the Dalata Hotel Group, Ireland largest Hotel Group, comprising of 46 hotels and growing, and we are now recruiting for a Meeting and Events Executive. You will need to be highly motivated and confident enough in your abilities to work in an environment where exceeding the expectations of our customers is the minimum requirement. As Meeting and Events Executive, you will assist the Events Sales Manager in the day to day running of the meeting and events office. You will look after email, telephone, generation of function sheets, arranging meetings and follow ups after a conference or event has taken place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with all meeting and event enquires whether they arrive by email, phone or walk in
  • Be responsible for updating S&C with accurate and relevant information
  • Complete daily reports monitoring revenue streams and departmental activity
  • Ensure the function sheets are distributed to the relevant departments in a timely manner, paying particular attention to the content details
  • Daily meeting and events billing Investigate any queries with regards to charges and billing
  • Maximize Meeting & Events revenue and profit through effective yield and diary management, commercial pricing & following selling strategies
  • Up-selling event and conference packages
  • Ensure the pro-active follow-up of all business, referrals and potential sales leads
  • Take the lead for ensuring that all site inspections are fulfilled professionally, efficiently and effectively ensuring rooms and spaces are set as per the client's requirements
  • Maintain high standards of self-presentation at all times
  • Work in accordance with SOP's for the department
  • Attend and contribute to daily/weekly team meetings
  • Attend showcases/wedding fairs and exhibitions when necessary
  • Keep staff/work areas tidy, safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
